True or False :Do Elijah's words at * 1Kings 18:21 apply today as they did back then?

The Old Testament is a book of instructions from Yahweh God to teach man how to be civilized and formal so yes.

True or False :Do Elijah's words at * 1Kings 18:21 apply today as they did back then?
It has modern day implication.

Israelites must take decidive action back then regarding who should they serve. Prophets of Baal faced annihilation that time. Faithful Israelites must maintain their integrity with Jehovah.

Same thing can be seen in our times. People must take decisive action to flee out of the Babylon the Great (empire of false relgion), it has fallen and awaiting the same consequences which the prophets of Baal faced. JEhovah's people must maintain their integrity, thus continue actively preaching the message of the Bible and helping others also to make decisive action and not limping upon two different opinions.True or False :Do Elijah's words at * 1Kings 18:21 apply today as they did back then?
Elijah challenged the people to take a stand- to follow whoever was the true God. Why did so many people waver between the two choices? Perhaps some were not sure. Many, however, knew that the Lord was God, but they enjoyed the sinful pleasures and other benefits that came with following Ahab in his idolatrous worship. It is important to take a stand for the Lord, If we just drift along with whatever is pleasant and easy, we will someday discover that we have been worshiping a false god- ourselves.

So I say it is True

Hope this Helped God Bless \o/
Just as effective in fact in the new testament it is said that one cannot serve God and mammon. Joshua offered the people the same choice, when he said, choose you this day whom you will serve, whether it be the gods your fathers served on the other side of the flood or the God of Israel. Even saved people get away from God and have to come crawling back. OOOOH my kknees are sooo sore.
1Ki 18:21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

Yes if God is God then serve and follow him. If he is not do not waste your time.
please hold...

OK so 1 kings 18:21 says.. ';Elijah came near to all the people and said, ';How long will you hesitate between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow him.'; But the people did not answer him a word. ';

it is not completely true as no1 follows Baal any more (at least i hope not). but it is defiantly something that should be said to a new ager..
(1 Kings 18:21) Then E·li′jah approached all the people and said: “How long will YOU be limping upon two different opinions? If Jehovah is the [true] God, go following him; but if Ba′al is, go following him.” And the people did not say a word in answer to him.

Yes it is true for us today...we are not forced to serve Jehovah as you well know. We have to choose for ourselves individually to follow the right course. Even our children must make the truth their own. There is only so much we can do and then it is all up to them.

And remember not to be too broken hearted if our bible studies fade out or or own children choose to leave the true worship of Jehovah because Jehovah calls those he wants. In fact Jesus had said something like this when on earth..He said, my sheep hear my voice and follow me.

Pray and stick close to the organization Jehovah has provided for us with the faithful and discrete slave dispensing the food at the proper time and we too may escape the destruction of this world to explore a pleasureful paradise where only the righteous will live.

It isn't a secret that the things we study now are becoming understood more than when we studied them a few years ago. The light however corny or fake it may sound does get brighter as the years come to a close.

Only after the great tribulation and Armageddon will we be at peace....and we will feel as we do when we get to the Kingdom Hall....we sit and heave a sigh of relief that we are with our brothers safe where no evil can touch us

One more thing....today some worship money, sex, power, fame and they never give a thought to God.

And when Jehovah's day arrives we better be ready because nothing else will matter.
The point of the question is to make people choose and stick with it, because you can only serve one idea.

I would say yes, because people still have to make up their minds about what they believe. It doesn't necessarily have to be those two choices only.
'Elijah challenged the people: ';How long are you going to sit on the fence? If God is the real God, follow him, if it's Baal, follow him. Make up your minds!';'

I'd say it doesn't because Baal is not worshiped these days.
The same meaning in different words is repeated in the New Testament In James Ch. 4 Verse 8, so it is valid today as it was then.
Yes it is still true many still serve Baal his symbol is the crescent moon.
False. People don't follow such a god anymore, I think. Besides, there's more than two religions in the world.
They apply more today than they have ever done.
